The PAAID Assistance project aims to upgrade quality and increase quantity of agri-food production in selected provinces of Pakistan for local and international markets. Cynosure conducted value chain analysis of apple, cherry, and trout in Gilgit-Baltistan region, assessing agricultural service centers and value chain services. The scope of work also included feasibility studies for model nurseries, energy efficient technologies, fish pelleting units, and aquaculture cages. Cynosure performed a needs assessment for the Department of Agriculture in Gilgit-Baltistan, revised policies, and provided training in gender mainstreaming, value chain analysis, and institutional research capacity building.
Situational Analysis and Baseline Survey of LACIP Phase II

Cynosure was hired to conduct a baseline survey for phase II of the "Livelihood Support & Promotion of Small Community Infrastructure Program (LACIP)" in three districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Buner, Shangla, and Lakki Marwat. The survey was carried out using the Poverty Scorecard and other questions related to KPIs, with a goal of covering all households in the selected areas. The purpose of the survey was to establish performance benchmarks for the program and identify potential beneficiary households for LACIP-II interventions in institutional development, community physical infrastructure, and livelihood enhancement. The program was implemented between 2012 and 2021 by PPAF, with support from KfW, and aimed to improve the quality of life for the poor in 11 districts of KP. The first phase of the program was implemented in eight districts, with the remaining three targeted in phase II.
