
Final Evaluation of the Gender Sensitive Integrated Rural Development Project in Mansehra District, Pakistan

The BMZ-funded Gender-sensitive Integrated Rural Development in Mansehra District project aimed to support small-scale farmers in 16 villages, particularly women-led and vulnerable households. The project was implemented by Saibaan and aimed to improve access to rights and skills, and organize women and men into functioning Village Development Organizations (VDOs). A terminal evaluation was conducted by Cynosure to assess the impact, effectiveness, relevance, efficiency, and sustainability of the project. The evaluation included site visits to 6 valleys and consultations with key informants and focus group discussions at community and institutional levels.

The Australia Short Course Award program funded a 4-week study tour for 23 Pakistani health and nutrition professionals to learn about multi-causing malnutrition in Pakistan. The program was delivered by Griffith University's International Business Development Unit and focused on site visits and educational workshops. As an in-country partner, we provided consultancy services for the program, including pre-course preparation, mentoring, post-course workshop, and interpretation services. The aim of the program was to help participants develop return-to-work plans for the health sector in Pakistan to tackle malnutrition. The program was supported by the Australia Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
