The "Improved Access to Quality Education in the Tribal Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa" initiative was funded by Global Affairs Canada and jointly implemented by UNICEF, UNDP and the KP provincial government. The project aimed to improve learning outcomes for girls in the KP Newly Merged Districts by reducing barriers to quality education. This desk review was conducted to explore the current status of gender equality and girls' education in the Merged Districts of KP, using a gender-based analysis lens. The desk review focuses on governance, key education stakeholders, the education profile in the NMDs and challenges faced by girls in accessing education.

The World Bank supported a study to understand opportunities and constraints in the development of local NTFP market and value chain systems in Pakistan. Cynosure conducted a Value Chain Assessment of three selected NTFPs (Mazri, Guggul, and S. persica) across 4 provinces in Pakistan. Cynosure also reviewed the UNDP-GEF funded "Mountain and Markets" project and provided a synthesis of key lessons and results. The study aimed to support the efficient development of local NTFP market and value chain systems in Pakistan.
