The GEF-funded project in Karachi aims to reduce GHG emissions in leather processing industries and enhance competitiveness of Pakistani leather products. It focuses on waste management, Corporate Carbon Footprint, and capacity building. Cynosure Consultants conducted a Mid-Term Review of the project to provide feedback and identify risks. The review involved field visits, desk review of documents, key informant interviews, and discussions with stakeholders.

The Gwadar-Lasbela Livelihoods Support Program aimed to reduce poverty in Gwadar and Lasbela by improving access to assets, skills, services and technologies for poor rural men and women. The project targeted 53,395 households in 451 villages and was implemented in the coastal districts of Pakistan by the provincial government of Balochistan. his impact evaluation covered all evaluation criteria adopted by IOE in its evaluation manual, namely: relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, sustainability, gender equality and women’s empowerment, innovation and scaling up, and performance of partners (IFAD and Government). In line with IOE’s methodology, impact was assessed across five specific domains, including: (i) household income and assets; (ii) human and social capital and empowerment; (iii) food security and agricultural productivity; (iv) natural resources, the environment and climate change; and (v) institutions and policies.
